Okay, so I'm gonna be real with you all — and this might be controversial — but I genuinely don't understand how we're supposed to measure "readiness" when the goalposts keep moving. Like, we talk about AI readiness like it's this fixed destination, right? But I've watched organizations go from "we need to train everyone on ChatGPT" six months ago to "actually, we need to think about hallucinations and liability" and now suddenly it's "wait, what about these new agentic systems?" I feel like we're building the plane while flying it, and nobody wants to admit that readiness might just be... ongoing? Messy?
What really gets me is that I see two completely different camps in here, and I don't think either side is wrong. You've got the people who say "readiness is about governance, policy, and risk frameworks first" — and they're absolutely right that you can't just let people loose. But then you've got the builders and experimenters who say "you'll never be *ready* if you don't start playing with this stuff" — and honestly? They're right too. I've noticed the teams that were most "unprepared" six months ago are actually further ahead now because they learned by doing. So is readiness a prerequisite or a consequence?
Here's what I'm genuinely confused about: **How do you actually measure whether a team is AI-ready without just... giving them AI and seeing what happens?** And what's the cost of waiting too long to find out?
