Understanding Your Score
Your AI Readiness Score combines eight categories. Here's what each one means and how to improve it.
Your AI Readiness Score combines six categories, each weighted by importance:
- Schema Markup (25%) — Schema Markup measures whether your pages have structured data (JSON-LD) that helps AI understand your content. Think of it as labeling your content so AI knows what it's about.
- Bot Access (15%) — Bot Access checks if major AI crawlers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google) are allowed to read your site. If they're blocked, they can't cite you.
- Entity Density (15%) — Entity Density measures how many specific names, places, products, and concepts appear in your content. AI prefers citing content rich in specific, factual details.
- Content Quality (20%) — Content Quality evaluates whether your pages answer questions directly, have clear headings, include FAQ sections, and show freshness signals like update dates.
- Page Speed (10%) — Page Speed matters because AI crawlers prefer fast-loading pages. This measures First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), and layout stability (CLS).
- AI Protocols (15%) — AI Protocols checks for emerging standards: llms.txt (a guide for AI about your site), NLWeb (natural language queries), and MCP (Model Context Protocol for direct AI interaction).
Bonus Points
You can earn bonus points for: allowing all AI bots (+5), 100% schema coverage (+5), and having all AI protocols implemented (+10).
